Student: Oliveto Maria Giovanna. “Redevelopment of the Alcide De Gasperi Refuge : Eco Design and Integrated Architecture in the Mountain Landscape,” is a project that explores the transformation of a historic refuge in Piano Ruggio (PZ), in the heart of the Pollino National Park into a sustainable hotel resort & spa. It combines principles of ecodesign and sustainable architecture, analyzing local materials, low-impact technologies and landscape integration strategies.

Through XLAM structures, corten steel brise-soleil, photovoltaic systems, phyto-purification systems, and eco-friendly furniture, the project offers a hospitality experience immersed in nature, respecting biodiversity, mountain context, and cultural heritage.

The research proposes a replicable model of near-zero-impact alpine architecture, where comfort, aesthetics and sustainability coexist harmoniously.
