Giusy Collucci

With her thesis project @giusy.colucci questions traditional aesthetic canons, shining a spotlight on the contemporary creative crisis.

The collection, with oversized and completely genderless lines, revolves around the rejection of the concept of “beautiful and new.” Fabrics as raw as canvases and synthetic coatings, together with dull, dusty hues, return a raw image, deliberately far from any glossy aesthetics.

The craftsmanship among devoré, patchwork, rips and exposed stitching evoke a tormented, unfiltered experience. Constructions left bare, with exposed interlining and unfinished hems, urge us to go beyond form, to seek substance.

“LET IT GO” is a lucid and necessary reflection on the current state of fashion: a system that speaks to a consumerist and superficial audience, contributing to the environmental degradation and social exploitation generated by fast fashion.
