Industrial Textile Clothing Patternmaker T.U.

Milan, Naples

Department of Fashion Design

The Industrial Patternmaker has an executive and creative role at the same time, because it requires a great deal of elasticity in applying industrial rules to the directions of the style office.

It is a profession born after the development of the garment industry, with the need to produce clothes in standard sizes, capable of fitting different physiques. The patternmaker’s job is just that: to interpret the sketch and prototype card created by the designer into a paper pattern declined in multiple sizes.

The course has several sections to choose from: Women’s, Men’s, Casual, Children’s and Girls’, Swimwear and Sportswear, Lingerie and Corsetry.

Employment outlets

The role of the Industrial Patternmaker is very important for medium and small textile companies and large fashion houses, which allows good career prospects.
