Antos cosmetics

My thesis project addresses the topic of “sustainable cosmetic packaging” through Rebranding and Sustainable Packaging Design for the company Antos Cosmesi. The main challenges were restyling the visual identity without compromising the values and coordinating the visual identity and packaging in order to give visual consistency between the different lines.

To this end, the logo was redesigned, distinctive color-coded iconography created, and new naming in Latin was devised to identify the main cosmetic lines. The illustrations were declined on the various formats, enabling the creation of compositions on store shelves.

For packaging design, aspects such as the use of sustainable materials were prioritized, including the choice of Materica Fedrigoni natural paper for the boxes, infinitely recyclable aluminum for the bottles, and the implementation of new biodegradable materials, such as canapackaging, 3D printed and made from PLA (natural bioplastic) and hemp, by the company Canapack.

In addition, solutions such as a refill option have been introduced to reduce resource waste. All the choices made in my project aim to reduce the “beauty footprint,” or the ecological footprint of the cosmetic product, from production to disposal.
